Mutasem Shareef Khalaf Speech language pathology is an exciting field to work in. After training to work with all communication disorders, I discovered that my passion lies in helping those persons who stutter. Stuttering is prevalent in our region and in our JISH clinic we see a large number of children and adults with this problem. In order to better serve this population, I designed and conduct a parent training program to help families with a member suffering from stuttering as a compliment to the therapy sessions. Also, at JISH I oversee group therapy for young male adults with stuttering disorder; this form of therapy is rewarding as I work with young men to help them overcome the negative emotions that are associated with this disorder.
